Key Steps and Precautions for Installing Hydraulic Hose Fittings

Leave a message

Hydraulic hose fittings play a crucial role in hydraulic hose assembly, and their installation quality directly impacts their performance. A well-assembled fitting significantly reduces the risk of oil leaks, while a poorly assembled fitting can create potential leaks. Compression fittings are a common type of fitting for hydraulic hoses. Below, we will delve into the installation principles of these fittings.
Pre-assembly of compression fittings for hydraulic hoses requires specialized tools, such as a vise. Small-diameter fittings can be easily pre-assembled in a vise. During pre-assembly, the nut and ferrule should be pressed firmly against the pipe to ensure a tight connection. Common compression fittings include straight fittings, end-through connectors, and tees. During pre-assembly, ensure that the fitting body on one end of the pipe matches the connector end to minimize the risk of leaks. Furthermore, the ends of the hydraulic hoses must be flush. After sawing, they should be polished with a grinding wheel or other tool to remove burrs. After cleaning, they should be blown clean with high-pressure air. During pre-assembly, the hydraulic hose and the connector body should be kept as coaxial as possible to avoid excessive deflection that may cause seal failure. In addition, to ensure safety and prevent injuries caused by the connector falling off or being damaged, the hydraulic hose should be protected at the connection with a braided steel wire protective sleeve.
